Mainlab Bioinformatics

Facilities Menu

We have excellent computional capacity in our laboratory. Dedicated Mainlab systems are housed in a temperature controlled IT server room:

  • One 64 node, dual 2.2 GHz processor, 2GB RAM, Hewlet Packard cluster
  • Two Sun Microsystems v440 Sparc IIIi quad processer (1.53 MHz) servers with 16 GB RAM (Oracle, Mysql and Postgres databases and Rosetta Resolver Array analysis system)
  • One Sun Microsystems v40Z quad dual core processor (2.8 GHz) compute server with 16 GB RAM
  • 2 HP Opteron dual core 2.2 GHz processor servers with 4 GB RAM (web and web development)
  • One QLogic SAN switch
  • 4 HP Opteron dual core 2.2. GH processor servers with 2 GB RAM (access, file sharing, management servers)
  • Data is stored on a 7TB Xserve RAID with data backup to an Overland Neo2000 LTO3 autoloader
  • Both on-site and off-site backups of data and applications
